Stone Scout & Guide Band has been a permanent fixture in Stone since the 1980s, providing opportunities for local young people aged 8 and over to learn how to play an instrument, learn discipline and work as a team. Often found at the head of local parades and events in Stone, and across Staffordshire, generations of young people have passed through our doors. We are run by volunteers from a musical and/or military background and, unlike other youth marching bands, we do not charge a fee for young people to join us. We have been able to offer our service like this for 35 years and it is important to us that all young people should have the opportunity to become a member, no matter their background or income. We provide each member with all the equipment they will require during their time in the band. We want to inspire local young people through music and help them experience the joy and pride we all felt as members of the band ourselves.
