My name is Lynne McNicoll and with my husband, Ian, we founded the charity, It’s Good 2 Give 11 years ago. We support young cancer patients and their families all over Scotland. It is 15years ago this month that I decided to start a fundraising challenge that changed my life.
There have been tough times in those years too – my stepson was killed and we learned how awful grief was (is still) and that led us to include bereaved families of young cancer patients into our services. I was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago which taught me how truly horrible treatment can be and made me hate it more in children. I want to celebrate my 15year volunteering anniversary by donating to our charity, It’s Good 2 Give.
Ian gave me this beautiful diamond necklace on Hogmanay 1999 to celebrate the new millennium. It is our joint decision to donate it now and we are super fortunate that we know lovely people to help. Our thanks to our friends at Hamilton & Inches who cleaned it for us so it is in very lovely condition and to Clare Blatherwick , a jewellery specialist, for providing a valuation certificate.
Pre-loved item but a special one and the fact it is heartshaped is all the more special as my heart is full of gratitude for all the support already shown over the years and the friendships made on this amazing chapter of my life.
