It’s been one of the most challenging years yet for trans rights, with rising hostility and attacks on our community.
Last year, Walthamstow Trans Pride made local history with the borough’s first ever Trans Pride, raising over £2,000 for The Outside Project.
This year, we want to come back bigger, louder, and prouder.
The Outside Project is the UK’s first LGBTQ+ crisis and homeless shelter, centre, and community hub. With winter approaching, their work is more vital than ever. Almost one in five trans people have experienced homelessness, often after rejection from family or unsafe living situations. The Outside Project offers not only a safe place to sleep, but also care, advocacy, and community that saves lives.
💛 Here’s what your solidarity can provide:
- £10 → a dinner / cutlery / mug set
- £25 → an evening meal at the shelter
- £30 → a bedding and towel set for someone arriving in crisis
- £50 → emergency transport to bring someone (and their belongings) to safety
- £100 → one day’s access to the day centre for 10 people
Thank you so much for standing with us 🏳️⚧️💛🤍💜🖤
