As the scale of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine became apparent in the first week of March. We launched our urgent appeal to help the thousands of people fleeing into neighbouring countries for safety. Over the last month, we have distributed more than 50,000 hot meals to refugees coming out to Poland, Hungary and Romania.
We see a lot of aid has reached these neighbouring countries however we know that people remaining in Ukraine are facing severe food shortages. We have now established a process to send supplies to key locations within Ukraine, cook hot meals and distribute them in the underground shelters.
In order to support this next phase, Lotus Trust UK has organised a "Walk for Ukraine" to raise funds to meet this urgent need. The Walk, from Krishna Avanti Primary School in Edgware to Bhaktivedanta Manor Temple, is an opportunity for people in the UK to raise money for a very good cause - providing 10,000 meals per day to people affected by the Ukraine Russia crisis.
The Walk for Ukraine will commence from the Krishna Avanti School, Camrose Avenue, Edgware to Bhaktivedanta Manor temple.
We encourage everyone, young, old and children to participate in this event.
On arrival at the temple, you will be directed to The Haveli for some refreshments and lunch. We are anticipating that the event will finish by 2pm.
