On Sat 8th October, The Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Cllr Paul Miller will take part in a charity skydive to raise money for his Charity Appeal, supporting The Pink Place and Tough Enough To Care.
He will free fall from 15,000 feet before parachuting to the ground.
Our charity provides FREE wellbeing services, complementary therapies, counselling, mindfulness sessions & support to adults affected by cancer, living in our community, from initial diagnosis, throughout treatment & beyond
Sadly, there are no NHS funds available for the holistic & wellbeing element of a cancer patient's treatment. It's well documented that this can form an integral part of their recovery, treating the whole person & not just the disease itself. Our charity aims to fill this gap & combat the impact on the mental health, anxiety, & isolation of those facing additional challenges due to a cancer diagnosis
Fact: 1 in 2 people will get cancer. People like Helen, Rob & Lesley who said-
Helen - "The charity has literally been a lifeline, shocked from my diagnosis, my head felt like it was going to explode but the support was amazing. Reflexology & mindfulness helped calm my mind and my body"
Rob - "I'm indebted to you. I don't know what would have happened to my mental health without you being there for me, especially when dark thoughts creep in"
Lesley - "I wanted to say that the charity has been a life saver to me during this awful time of my life & has given me something to focus on rather than my cancer. Being able to talk to others in the same situation who truly understand has been so beneficial & has filled me with so much positivity"
