We’re proud to support a heartfelt event organised by one of our dedicated volunteer blood bike riders, Mark.
Mark’s friend has a deeply personal reason for giving back - his daughter, Cara, needed the expert care of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Nottingham City Hospital. Thanks to the incredible staff there, Cara is now a thriving young girl, full of spirit and strength.
To show their gratitude, Mark and his friend are organising a fundraiser to improve the NICU staff break room by providing much-needed refreshments and comforts for the hardworking team.
Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes is honoured to back this initiative. We'll be calling on our members to get involved, and our Blood Bikes and Cars will be on hand to help transport the donated refreshments to the hospital.
If you’re unable to attend the event in person, you can still support the cause. This page has been set up to accept donations, which will be used to purchase refreshments on your behalf. Every contribution helps us say “thank you” to the NHS heroes who make a difference in so many lives.

"We can’t help but feel overwhelming gratitude towards the staff at Nottingham Neo Natal Unit. It is an emotion that’s been with us ever since our neonatal journey began six years ago. Our daughter Cara was born via emergency C-section after reduced movements were detected. We spent five intense weeks in Nottingham City Hospital’s NICU, where we received extraordinary care. Today, Cara is thriving—hitting every milestone and living life with incredible spirit. Nothing has held her back.
