In 2 weeks time, on the 2nd of July, three of our vets will be attempting to run a 50km trail race having never run even close to that distance before. In a slightly mad moment a few months ago Matt, Ruth and Vanessa decided that running an ultramarathon with no prior experience would be a brilliant idea. Despite a slight lack of training, covid and both busy work and family lives we’ll be on the start line and hoping for your support.
The Serpent Trail is a long distance path in Hampshire and we will be running the 2nd half from Petworth to Petersfield through woods and heathland. The maximum distance any of us have run prior to this challenge is 20km. We are hoping for your support and donations to spur us on when the going gets tough.
We are raising funds for the cinnamon trust who help to maintain the incredibly important human-animal bond for both the elderly and terminally ill.
The Cinnamon Trust is the national charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets. A network of over 18,000 community service volunteers provide practical help with pet care for pets whose owners face a spell in hospital. They also provide long term care for pets whose owners have died or moved to residential accommodation which will not accept pets, so owners have peace of mind in the knowledge that their beloved companion will have a safe and happy future.
Thank you for all your support and anything you can spare to donate.
Matt, Ruth, Vanessa and all at St Peter’s Vets
