Fundraiser - Running for Care4Calais Manchester

Story

Maddy, Amy and Clare are running the Tatton Park half marathon on 9th November 2025 to raise money for Care4Calais.

Maddy volunteered on the ground in Calais in 2023 and has seen first hand how important this organisation is for upholding the dignity of those people seeking asylum, both in the camps in Calais and here in the UK.

All funds raised will go directly to supporting refugees and people seeking asylum in the Manchester area. It will be used for material aid for residents in hotels and temporary accommodation, including clothing, shoes, underwear, and Christmas presents for children.

Care4Calais

Care4Calais is a volunteer-run charity delivering essential aid and support to refugees living in the UK, and Northern France. We believe in a fair and tolerant British society and advocate for a welcoming and inclusive attitude towards refugees. Operating year round from Calais, our focus is to provide warm clothing, bedding, food and medical assistance to people in desperate need. We also provide social support and interaction, including language lessons and sports and music workshops. We are on the ground with the refugees every single day and are respectful of their common humanity and responsive to their needs.
