With the Autumn Half Term approaching next month, Deeside Round Table are planning to start up our Autumn Care Pack Campaign of free lunchtime meals to help local families with children who may be experiencing hardship at present. Our area has seen a rise in pandemic-driven redundancies, income cuts and increasing living costs that have tightened family budgets, so, like during the previous school holidays this year, we’re set on combating child hunger with a fresh campaign for the approaching October half term. Many thanks to the vital community relationships that we have developed with local businesses, local organisations, charities and service providers who have helped our Care Pack campaigns in the past. We'd like to reach out again to for their assistance. If there's anything you can provide, we'd be delighted and grateful, this will be donated to some of the most vulnerable children in our community. The Welsh government have committed to continuing to provide meals for those registered for Free School Meals but we also realise that because of the on-going loss of income for local people who continue to suffer job losses or have their hours cut because of the pandemic knock-on effect, some local families who might not previously have been assessed for Free School Meals might now find themselves in a position where they need a little bit of extra support. So, if you know of a family who might need a bit of help, who would benefit from us delivering a free kids lunch during the Autumn Half Term, please message us.
