Richard Connolly was only 52 when his life was cut short by mesothelioma, a form of cancer triggered by exposure to asbestos dust.
Prior to his illness Richard's life was centred on his family, wife Lisa and sons Nathan and Matty, his career, and sport where his enthusiasm was boundless. He played football with Oldham Hulmeians, watched his team Oldham Athletic, and loved all things cricket, especially his team Glodwick CC.
On March 17 starting at 9.30am friends from Glodwick and Hulmeians are joining forces to raise funds for mesothelioma research and Glodwick CC through a sponsored walk. It will start at one spiritual home, Old Trafford Cricket Ground, pass the second, Boundary Park Football Ground, and finish at the third, Glodwick CC.
All funds donated will be sent initially to Glodwick CC for subsequent sharing with Mesothelioma UK (reg Charity 1177039)
