Story

The National Portage Association has been a amazing for our family, supporting our son, Seb, through regular sessions with his amazing Portage worker, Ella. Seb loves these sessions, and we’ve seen incredible progress in his development thanks to their therapy.

Portage is a home-visiting educational service for pre-school children with SEND and their families.

Portage works with families like ours to help children progress in all areas of their Learning and Development.  The National Portage Association is the umbrella organisation and charity that supports all Portage services in the country. 

To give back, my friend Tom and I will be running the Manchester Marathon on 27th April 2025 to raise money for this incredible charity.

Warning - Legend Update!

On Saturday 4th January 2025 I completed the Battersea half marathon and managed to get a PB of 1 hour 35 minutes. 

the training continues - despite the weather.

The countdown has begun towards the big event!

Wow - What a fantastic start to our fundraising campaign for the National Portage Association.  Thank you to everyone that has donated so far - we have reached an incredible £1728.75 already.  You know what that means........ We've increased the target amount to £2,500!!

An update on our the Marathon training...... (Lewis)

I have been in training and running distances from 10km to half marathon including one 27km in the Christmas period. 

I am doing a half marathon race at Battersea on the 4th January and will begin my formal 16 week running programme as of the 6th January.

Portage is a home-visiting educational service for pre-school children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and disability) and their families and aims to: - Work with families to help them develop a quality of life and experience, for themselves and their young children, in which they can learn together, play together, participate and be included in their community in their own right. - Play a part in minimising the disabling barriers that confront young children and their families. support the national and local development of inclusive services for children.
