Story

On 10th April I am running the Brighton Marathon for Arch, Brighton's specialist healthcare service for people facing homelessness. Please sponsor me and help raise money for their vital work.

A donation to Arch Healthcare makes a huge difference in the life of a local person facing homelessness and housing insecurity. Homelessness is associated with complex healthcare challenges and very poor health outcomes. Conversely, a positive experience in healthcare can be the starting point for someone taking care of their health, and other aspects of their life – therefore early investment in healthcare can have a potentially huge effect on the health and wellbeing of some of the poorest, most vulnerable people in our city.

Arch also offers healthcare in the local hospitals, identifying and supporting anyone admitted to hospital whilst facing homelessness. Money donated to my fundraiser will go towards “patient dignity packs”. These contain toiletries, change of clothes, magazines, TV vouchers, all of which enable a patient with no resources to have a dignified, bearable hospital stay, getting appropriate treatment and getting to full recovery.
