On Saturday May 18th I'm taking part in the Jurassic Coast Challenge from Corfe Castle to Weymouth and would welcome donations for an incredibly good cause - Hendy Foundation.
It’s a 58 km trek of real variety with ups and downs and nearly 1,700 metres of climb. I'm told the route is stunning, with spectacular scenery including Corfe Castle, Swanage, Lulworth Cove, and Durdle Door, before the finish line in Weymouth.
This is the second year I have decided to walk for Hendy Foundation. I really enjoyed the walk last year and meeting other colleagues. Last year I walked 50km from Brighton to Arundel and I want to challenge myself again this year and try another location – the Jurassic Coast. My goal this time is to beat my 9 hour time, so I think I might have to actually train for it this year!
Hendy Foundation is a dedicated charity that provides grants to local projects people, events and charitable organisations in the areas in which the Hendy Group operates.
Since setting up in 2019 it has donated more than £350,000 to local causes and 99 per cent of all donations received are given to the charities it supports.
Examples of charities supported include foodbanks across the south and south west, cancer support charities, an organisation supporting those bereaved by suicide and groups looking to support older people with dementia.
You will find more details about the charity on the website www.hendyfoundation.org
