Aisha - Baltistan, Hunza and Rakaposhi Trek 2022

Hello all, 

This year I have the privilege to join the Abaseen Foundation trek to Gilgit-Baltistan. I will be fundraising for the Abaseen Foundation who work passionately to support children in Peshawar (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). 

You might ask, why am I joining this charity trek in particular? Well, my sister had joined the charity trek in 2019 and I was in awe of the places she visited, the people she met and the stories she shared with me. I knew I had to join the Abaseen Foundation trek in order for me to play my little part in supporting these children through their education.

The children helped by the charity are living below the poverty line, in some cases the parents of these children require them to work at extremely young ages. But these children need an education and deserve to live their childhood. This is where the Abaseen Foundation conduct such admirable work, by the following (not an exhaustive list):

* Providing malnourished children with food

* By providing free education to girls and boys in Peshawar, on a needs basis

* Children supported by the Abaseen Foundation have all stationery and equipment provided to them

* In some cases where the students families do not have any shelter, the Abaseen Foundation has built them a small house they can call their own

I would be extremely grateful if you would dig deep in your pockets and support my fundraising. This is for such a great cause and I will ensure you receive regular updates in May 2022 from the trek, and my visit to the school in Peshawar.

The Abaseen Foundation (AF) is an award winning charitable body dedicated to improving the lives of those who live in one of the poorest and most deprived areas of Pakistan. It has been established for over 20 years, working primarily in the fields of health, education, research and relief. In its early years AF only worked with government and donor schemes, but of late it has developed its own institutions, driven by the communities it serves, and now owns properties which house schools and health centres.
