Hi all
To mark my upcoming Bat Mitzvah I'm going to be hiking in the Lake District on the weekend of the 7th of July and will also be dragging Dad behind me. Our first challenge will be climbing St Sunday Crag – a fell in the Lake District of 2,572 feet. Then on Sunday morning we climb the iconic Helvellyn. It will be a tough challenge of over 3000 feet climbing via Striding and Swirl Edges.
We are hoping to raise lots of Tzedakah in the memory of my wonderful granny Lira Winston.
All the monies raised will be put towards the new Lira Winston Fellowship Programme, run by PAJES, which will be based around the community work that my granny was passionate about and for which she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Jonathan Sacks z"l the year before she died. It will be developing leaders within the community and helping our schools improve through supporting teachers and head teachers. Lots of my teachers at primary school benefitted from granny's work so we hope to carry this on into the future.
The hike has been organised by the fabulous Bnei Mitzvah Challenge organisation which organises charity hikes for Bar and Bat Mitzvah children each year.
If you can afford to give a little it will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks, Tzof
