Story

On 26th September 2021, I will be "walking" the Manchester 10K. This is to raise funds for the Steven Beech "Be Better" Foundation which family and friends started in memory of my son Steven.

As most of you know Steven was tragically killed in 28th May 2018. This left an enormous void in our lives. He would no doubt be much amused at the idea of his parents walking 10K!

His mantra was "Be Better" with which he encouraged people to be more positive about themselves and simply “Be Better“ in any way be it large or small.

For many years I've been a "couch potato" - even my job, before I retired, involved more sitting down than standing up! Steven's mantra has inspired me to become more active and more positive - to "Be Better". So, along with my husband George, started walking - training for the 10K!!

I am hoping I can inspire others to sign up for the Manchester 10K and walk with us to raise funds for the Foundation. If you would like to join us please contact me on the following email address - maggiebeech48@gmail.com. You are never too old (I'm 72 - hence "walking"!).
