MMMADD Walkers take on the 25 km Thames Bridge challenge for Home-Start

MMMADD Walkers - Michelle, Monika, Michaela, Alex, Debbie and Debbie

Between us, we are mums and step-mums to 11 children and we clearly remember how hard it is to be a parent to young children.

Please support us on our mission to change this experience for some of our local families by enabling us to raise money for Home-Start Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere, a charity which does just that. With a kind and caring volunteer working with one family for 6 months, being a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on - volunteers are there all the way, they are there to change lives., they are there because childhood cannot wait.

We are taking on this challenge knowing first hand what difference our fundraising will make . Alex has volunteered for Home-Start for nearly 2 years and is currently supporting her second family and Michaela has previously volunteered and now works as a Support Coordinator.

Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers

Home-Start is a local charity and voluntary organisation based in Watford for the last twenty years. We are part of a national charity and across the country; there are over 250 local Home-Starts.Here at Home-Start we are committed to promoting the welfare of children under the age of five and their siblings. Trained volunteers visit families weekly for two to three hours in their homes. They offer support, friendship and guidance when families need it the most. These weekly visits make a huge difference to a family who maybe isolated, coping with family breakdown or struggling with their own health needs.
