'16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence’ is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10th December, Human Rights Day.
#16DAYS is an international event, observed around the world by organisations to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls
At WRASAC we always take an active role in 16 Days campaigning , mainly by organising the ‘Reclaim The Night’ march, to raise awareness and funds. Due to the impact and restrictions placed on us currently due to Covid-19 we are unable to run the march this year, so have opted to try and raise awareness and funds virtually!
This year for 16 days we will be ‘colouring the world orange’ and we and Dundee Women’s Aid are organising free virtual training for professionals throughout 16 days.
WRASAC and Dundee Women’s Aid are linking in with other local agencies who support women and children across the Dundee area; we will be supporting our ‘sister’ organisations by raising awareness of the work they do on our social media pages during 16 days and are fundraising for them too. Please help us to raise awareness by following our socials, share any posts on your own pages and if you can, please donate
All funds raised during the 16 days campaign will be shared between DUNDEE WRASAC, DUNDEE WOMENS AID, SHAKTI, TDAS and MIA services
