100 Fighters campaign
Our Clare Goddard CEO at NBS UK took part in the recent webinar we hosted discussing our research project in Manchester using Tumour-Infiltrating Lymphocytes to encourage the body to fight back against NF2 tumours.
In case you missed it, you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0yd2WCybS4
The webinar & our kick off helped raised over £28,000 for this project, which was amazing and that we are very grateful for. We are now focused on the remaining £57,000. Big numbers I know, but together we can do it.
We are asking our community to be a part of our '100 Fighters’ campaign. If we can have 100 people finding £500 to donate we have then broken the back of the target and have other personal fundraisers in the pipeline where we can bridge the gap.
We are very proud to be working with the team at the newly opened Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre in Manchester, we are very well supported by the research lab team who you met on the webinar some of whom are listed here: Omar Pathmanaban, Claire O’Leary, Gareth Evans. To have two projects happening at this centre of excellence is a fantastic opportunity for everyone affected with NF2.
Please consider supporting our journey with this our second research project at Manchester
TILs are a type of immune cell that has moved from the blood into a tumor. Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TILs) can recognize and kill cancer cells. In cancer therapy, Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes are removed from a patient’s tumor, grown in large numbers in a laboratory, and then given back to the patient to help the immune system kill the cancer cells.
