Dearest family and friends,
We, Arun (ACT President Sri Lanka) and Jay (ACT President UK), are skydiving from 13,500 feet to raise funds for a project extremely dear to our hearts, The Bandarawela Community Kitchen in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has been facing the worst economic crisis in many decades. Unprecedented inflation levels, a huge increase in prices of basic essentials, and a shortage of medical supplies have impacted everyone, especially those who survive on daily wages. Thousands of these families survive with one meal a day, with children having very little food to eat.
Our fundraising initiative, ACT4SriLanka, is a part of the global community, ACT Foundation, and was created to raise awareness and funds for those suffering during this crisis.
Our GOAL is to raise $18,000 to serve 18,000+ meals over 6 months (100 meals a day). We will provide free and nutritious, high-quality vegan meals to one of the worst-hit towns in Sri Lanka, Bandarawela. The kitchen will also pay special attention to providing nutritious food for pregnant and feeding mothers and children under fifteen years old.
Please SUPPORT our goal, and we hope that we can make a difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters who are facing immense hardship!
Our Skydiving event takes place on Saturday the 27th of August at 8:30 am. Please do come and support us on the day too.
Location:
Airfield Camp, Netheravon, Wiltshire, SP4 9SF
