Seven guys from Knowle and Dorridge Round Table will undertake an epic Great North challenge on the weekend of June 10th and 11th, swimming 1 mile in England's largest lake, Lake Windermere, having climbed England's highest peak, Scafell Pike, the day before.
All the money donated will be given out to good local causes by Knowle and Dorridge Round Table, which raises money by organising local events such as Santa Sleigh, Knowle Beer Fest, the Dorridge Day Fete, and Knowle Remembrance Parade.
Firstly, they will be doing an 8 hour trek up Scafell Pike (England's tallest mountain) on the Saturday with a larger group of Round Tablers from Knowle and Dorridge. The next morning, the seven will head to Lake Windermere (England's largest lake) to take part in a 1 mile swim as part of the Great North Swim event.
Ben Clark, Phil Gray, Mark Menzies, David Mabon, Oli Mustin, Mark Smith and Chris Wills have all been training hard for the event, which has meant getting back in the pool for the first time in years, and recent practice swims in a lake near Kingsbury was the first open water swim for most of them.
If you would like to sponsor them as they take on this challenge it will help local good causes.
Thank you!
