Research shows that there is a big gap within our communities, young people in prison are not getting the support they need to be able to make educated and informed decisions for their future. In recent years the government has run behaviour programmes to reduce re-offending in adults, however little has been done to support Young Offenders. Today, young people need guidance and support more than ever before - they need to be educated so they are able to take action and make good decisions which will positively change their future. 

Studies by the Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) had identified that interventions with offenders from the younger age group have had positive impacts and therefore led to reductions in recidivism. 

Youth Mix are currently working HMPPS and other charities to support Young Offenders. We are looking to provide education around basic life skills, one to one mentoring time, career planning and CV development sessions in prison so Young Offenders are prepared before they re-enter society. Providing support, motivation and guidance is critical at this time as it gives the young person a chance to succeed. 

Any donations to support the ongoing work Youth Mix is providing to Young Offenders and to kick start the projects will make a huge difference to the individuals who are desperately seeking this kind of support.

Youth Mix

Our Mission

Youth Mix has been set up in response to the severe and detrimental cuts to funding and young people’s services across England, including the mass closures of youth services across the country, leaving young people with a lack of services and support, and an increase in youth crime, self-harm and suicide. Young people are feeling more and more isolated and segregated from society with no real voice or future prospects.

At Youth Mix we aim to facilitate real change in the lives of young people aged 16 to 26 years old by facilitating informal educational activities, training opportunities and life experiences that inspire young people while providing tools and skills to help young people lead active and independent lives.
