This winter, children near you are forced to escape domestic abuse - leaving behind everything they own and know to live in a refuge. They are confused, upset and frightened.

At Women’s Aid in Luton we give them safety and support, but we need your help to fund essential services this winter and bring festive cheer to children in our refuges during the festive season. 

By donating you will help us give children in our refuges a festive party and treats, fund emergency accommodation and play and recovery sessions with our specialist children’s support worker. With your help, we will also be able to provide ongoing support for children as they prepare to move on from refuge and begin a new life in the new year.

What your donation will do:

  • £14 helps us provide entertainment and food at a festive party for children in our refuge
  • £36 helps us give a child a 1:1 session with a specialist children's support worker
  • £65 helps provide essential overnight accommodation in refuge to a mum and her child
  • £98 helps us organise a fun-filled day trip for children and their mums living in refuge

Women's Aid in Luton

Women's Aid in Luton is a voluntary organisation supporting women and children who fall victim to domestic abuse. We offer support and guidance to women's and children from all backgrounds and circumstances. For some this will just be someone to listen and for others this will be to offer them complete support to break away and start again. This may be through our helpline or even through one of our drop-in support groups. Our refuges are vital in allowing women access to peer support groups, education, one to one sessions with trained staff, access to legal advice. Our children's service is vital part of Women's Aid in Luton, the trained and skilled children's support workers are able to work with the children that come into refuge to allow them to come to terms with their experiences. Women's Aid in Luton are able to provide all of the above services because of the continued generosity of individuals, local community groups and corporate supporters to help us to continue to operate.
