In 2020 Compton Road and Inwood Crescent lost three mature Elm trees to Dutch Elms Disease.
Losing three trees has been very disheartening, especially now that so many of us are conscious of the climate and ecological emergency we face, and have been finding solace in our local environment during lockdown.
The stripped stumps are not an unfamiliar site across Brighton and Hove, and we know the council has a number of financial pressures, so we are trying to help raise the funds to restore our local trees as quickly as we can.
We're trying to raise enough money to replace one tree a year but with a bit of fundraising imagination and perhaps some external help we may be able to do more!
