Open Arms provide essential care for Malawi's orphaned and abandoned children, giving them the chance to achieve their potential within the love and security of a home. Their principal aim is to support the return of fit and healthy toddlers to their extended families, while working closely with local communities to build brighter futures for children and their families for generations to come.
Open Arms have been our charity partner since 2016 and a number of AC staff have made the trip over to Malawi to experience first-hand the incredible work done on the ground. To date, we have supported building projects (feeding stations, school houses, school dormitories), the running of 2 baby homes (Mangochi & Blantyre), matron costs, provision of food and clothing as well as funding a most needed new vehicle making sometimes difficult to reach communities more accessible for the outreach programme.
This year, a group of 12 members of staff are travelling to Open Arms in Malawi to visit the children in their care, to help with maintenance and upkeep of the facilities and provide community outreach.
Any help would be greatly appreciated in order to have a big an impact as possible for the children and communities supported by the charity.
