About

In Nepal we seek to provide food, shelter and companionship to those in need. Our aim is to support and empower people of all species beyond culture and creed.

It is our conviction that all people have something to give to the world, even a smile can have a positive impact and make a difference in somebody’s day.

Since 2021 we have provided food monthly to a variety of people and animals. Also, Fruit Tree Plantation Drive provides food in the future for all beings for free.

Here are some of our initiatives. We find that there is still much more to do in Nepal.

1. Annadan food distribution to people

Among our annadan recipients are senior citizens in ashrams , children in orphanages, a school for visually impaired children and one for children with autism, , underprivileged people in rural Nepal, widows and sadhus. A major event in 2023 was the distribution of 2700 kilos of food and toiletries supporting the Chepang community in a hard-to-get-to top of a mountain in Terai jungle.

2. Food to animals

We have supported dog shelters in Kathmandu with food and medicine. Cows in Pashupatinath cow shelter were provided hay and corn meal.

3. The fruit tree plantation drive

We have planted fruit trees in Dakshinkali temple and Thankot outside Kathmandu.

4. Blankets distribution

We have distributed blankets and hats to the street dwellers in Katmandu in the winter.

5. Providing building materials

We have provided building materials to families affected by a wildfire in rural Nepal. A family of 7 became homeless and now depend on family and friends to survive.

Founded in 2003 by P.K. Mohan in memory of his daughter Ammu, who tragically passed away at age 4, ACT Foundation keeps her extraordinary spirit of love and kindness alive. Through every act of compassion, we honor Ammu’s legacy, helping the helpless and restoring dignity to the less fortunate.
