About

As an entirely peer-run organisation of women living with HIV, led by Black women from migrant and refugee backgrounds, we set up 4MNet to meet our priority of providing ourselves and our peers with psycho-social, perinatal support, as an essential part of our sexual and reproductive health and rights. This translates into positive outcomes for our babies, extended family and communities. However, core funding especially is an ongoing challenge for small women's rights organisations like ours and your support will go a long way in diversifying our income and sustainability to enable us uphold our Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights throughout our life.

“I have supported several women during their pregnancy and post birth as part of my role as a peer navigator….. working alongside the midwife, this allows for a very complete picture of the developmental stages of a pregnancy and addresses any  concerns and decisions the pregnant woman has to make on her pregnancy journey.” Mentor Mother

4M MENTOR MOTHERS NETWORK CIC (4M Net)

4M ( My Health, My Child, My Choice, My Life ) started in 2016 as a Salamander Trust programme and developed into an incorporated Community Interest Company (CIC) - 4M Mentor Mothers Network CIC (4M Net), in 2019. We are an innovative peer-led Mentor Mothers network, training women living with HIV across the UK and internationally as Mentor Mothers to provide their peers with psychosocial support in their pregnancy journey and beyond. We establish safe community spaces and grassroots ownership to addresses specific challenges/anxieties experienced by women living with HIV navigating the perinatal journey. 4M Net is centred on the principles of the 2017 WHO Consolidated Guideline on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) of Women living with HIV- rights-based, gender equitable and women-centred and uses a holistic approach, recognising intersectionalities and using a trauma-informed approach to address these. 4M Net’s work contributes to the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals and supports the Respectful Maternity care Charter .
