I am a self funded rescue centre for ferrets which are domesticated animals although I will help, rehabilitate & release any animal in the mustelid family which includes weasels, stoats polecats & many more that are non domesticated & native to the UK. I built my rescue centre for the ferrets to run free & play, I do not use cages or hutches to keep them in they are much happier running & playing in groups freely I do not turn any ferret away, they come from many situations, some are dumped, other situations can be relationship breakdown, moving & can't take them, not realising the care they need, scared of them, loss of interest, many situations I can have any number of ferrets at the centre ranging from 50 to 150, each year in breeding season I have around 40-50 babies arrive, some need specialist care & hand rearing Ferrets are extremely misunderstood animals, they are very affectionate, loyal & loving animals, they just want to love you & play Our vet bill has reached over £3000 this year, but currently stands at around £700, its been extremely hard fundraising with the Covid situation Maintenance at the centre is on going as I build more enclosures & outdoor play areas for the ferrets to enjoy, its always improving to make their days as happy as possible.
