Carrickfergus Junior Gateway is a social club for young people with learning disabilities and special needs based in Carrickfergus, County Antrim. We operate throughout the school term in Sunnylands Youth Centre. We run as two sessions: Junior and Crossroads. Junior is for young people aged 6 to 18 and runs on Saturday mornings from 10am-1pm. Crossroads is for young adults aged 15 to 29 and runs on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 10pm. Gateway forms part of the leisure arm of the national charity Mencap who aims to be a voice for all those with learning disabilities. We fully believe in this aim and our membership reflects this in the wide range of abilities and skills within the club.
