During a fit of mild insanity I said I wanted to complete a marathon around my 40th birthday.

To this end I am entering the 2022 Taunton Marathon.

Whilst doing it I am raising money for a wonderful local charity, Somerset Sight.

Somerset Sight help provide support services to the visually impaired people of all ages. See www.somersetsight.org.uk for details.

In all honesty, I will probably enjoy the first 15 miles or so of the Taunton Marathon, on the 3 April.

However, the last 10 I probably won't.

Somerset Sight is a not for profit organisation, providing practical and emotional support to over 3,500 people and their families across the county who are blind or visually impaired. We know that life doesn't stop just because your sight has been affected. Our aim is to provide services, training and activities that will help maintain independence and improve the quality of life of anyone who is affected by sight loss. Our services include low visual aids, a mobile advisory service, emotional support, activities and our flagship volunteer visiting service, plus many more.
