Story

My name is Cai. I am 20 years old. I love  Wrexham AFC and enjoy going to local gigs.

I have Down Syndrome and Verbal Dyspraxia. I can say some words but rely on Makaton sign to communicate. I started accessing Dynamic in Wrexham when I was 9 years old. They provide all sorts of services for children and young people who have disabilities.

I’ve had lots of wonderful opportunities as a member of the after-school groups and holiday programme. For the last 4 years I have been a member of their choir, the  Dynamic Signing Sensations. I love signing and performing all over the county with my friends.

I leave for residential college in a few weeks time and want to say thank you to Dynamic and my choir by raising some money for them.

So, on Sunday 1st September, I will be walking from the Trevor Basin to Llangollen and back, approximately 8 miles.  Whilst this may seem like a Sunday stroll for some, this will be a tough walk for me as I’m not a huge fan of walking!

Please consider donating £1 to this cause, as every single pound adds up and will go a long way to help towards the costs needed for room hire and the staff who support my friends in the choi

Supporting

Dynamic Wrexham

We are based in Wrexham, North Wales, providing services for children and young people with disabilities and their families. These include:

After-school/weekend activity sessions which provide social opportunities as well as help build independence skills; supporting young people to access community activities of their choice with a view to attending independently in the future, enabling young people to have their voice heard about the issues that matter to them, as well as helping to build resilience in those that need it most because of emotional, social or behavioural difficulties.  We also have a signing choir who enjoy performing locally.

We also provide support to parents/carers with regular parent support groups, well-being sessions, and regular family events.

Whilst we receive funding to deliver some of these services, this does not cover all that we offer and we rely heavily on the generosity of others to match fund. Any support you can offer is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
