The Gorsefield Charitable Foundation

The Gorsefield Charitable Foundation is dedicated to supporting Gorsefield Rural Studies and Outdoor Activity Centre, an outdoor education hub set in the Essex countryside. Registered as a charity (No. 1213473), the Foundation works to advance education and promote health and wellbeing by helping children and young people access high-quality outdoor learning experiences that might otherwise be out of reach. The Foundation ensures that schools and community groups, especially those from Tower Hamlets and other areas with limited access to green space, can benefit from residential visits, day trips, nature-based activities, and hands-on challenges that build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and communication skills. By reducing financial and practical barriers to access, the Foundation helps more children enjoy the freedom of learning beyond the classroom, fostering personal growth, wellbeing, and a lasting connection with the natural world. Gorsefield itself offers a rich programme of outdoor experiences in woodland, fields, and open space, encompassing environmental learning, adventure activities, and opportunities to explore nature in a safe, inspiring environment.
