Hello, and thank you for viewing our raffle page!

We rely on the community to support the project bringing books into the hands of children in the local community.

It is lovely engaging with the community, this has been through book donations, feedback about the books being read and requested and at our first storytelling event back in October.

We have reached out to local businesses that have been wonderful in providing prizes for this raffle, we are extremely grateful. These prizes are local to Colchester and the surrounding area, with physical prizes (including some gift cards) needing to be collected in the CO4 area which will be arranged after the draw via email.

We are hoping to raise funds for; free events provided by us to the community, any ongoing maintenance or adjustments needed to keep the shed operational, marketing materials to raise awareness of the shed and to purchase books requested by the community.

The Little Book Shed

The Little Book Shed is a registered charity (1215179) providing books from babies to early teens in a purpose-built shed in Colchester, CO4 5XT. 

The charity's purpose is to advance education by improving literacy and reading for pleasure for children and young people through a free community library book shed. 

We engage with the local community through social media, live storytelling events and word of mouth. 

We receive donations of books, which we are extremely grateful for. These are then checked, catalogued and sorted into the shed.

Once books are inside, they can be borrowed and returned from the shed for free during our opening hours.

The raffle will be drawn on the   19th July 2026, 6:00 PM
