We support children, from across the country, with life-threatening immune disorders on Ward 3 at the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle Upon Tyne. For these children, even a common cold can be deadly. From the moment they are diagnosed, they must be protected from everyday threats. Across more than three decades, The Bubble Foundation has been their lifeline. We give our little superheroes the best possible chance to make a full recovery; and we hope to make life a little easier for families navigating the trauma of a seriously ill child. While on the ward, the children stay with their parent, inside a protective “bubble” of clean air, to shield them from any infections that could be fatal. It’s tough. We provide toys, activities and games, which are safe for them. We provide comfort and support to families on the ward, and we fund cutting-edge research to improve diagnosis and treatment. We also fund medical equipment and stand beside the doctors and nurses as they fight to for their patient’s futures.
