We offer our members many benefits, such as:

  1. Privilege rate fares - Currently 50% off the published fares (for the members themselves only & provided by the operating company Northampton Steam Railway Limited).  Note: Privilege rate fares are not available/valid at Special Events.
  2. Copies of the Premier Line magazine (one copy, of each new issue, per membership).
  3. Member only Special Offers in the Shop on the platform - Special offers are available on specific dates or for limited time periods only.
  4. The opportunity to become a Volunteer Working Member, which includes further benefits.

NLR CIO membership is also a requirement for becoming a volunteer working member. Full details on volunteering are on our website here: https://www.nlr.org.uk/volunteering-nlr/

Northampton and Lamport Railway

WELCOME TO THE NEW FUNDRAISING PAGE FOR THE NORTHAMPTON AND LAMPORT RAILWAY CIO

The Northampton & Lamport Railway (NLR) is a steam and heritage diesel tourist railway in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside. Located just 5 miles north of Northampton, we currently have approximately one-and-a-half miles of running track along the old Northampton to Market Harborough line. This route is now the Brampton Valley Way (a 14-mile linear park) so you can not only ride one of our trains along the former line, but also walk along and watch the steam and diesel engines in action.

First established in 1984, we are run purely by volunteers and have been operating train services since 1995. We are currently working to complete our half mile southern extension to Boughton, before then pushing north a further one-and-a-half miles to Spratton.

The Northampton and Lamport Railway Charitable Incorporated Organisation (formerly the Northampton and Lamport Railway Preservation Society) is the charity which supports the Northampton and Lamport Railway.

All funds raised by us help to expand and improve the railway.
