Together Dementia Support needs your
help to reach isolated people at this difficult time. We are a small
charity supporting people living with dementia and their carers across
Manchester and Trafford. We run regular activity groups to get people out of their
homes and socialising.
The people we support were already
isolated, but the current lockdown has made life harder. Many of them live
alone, so they may only have bags of food delivered to their doorstep. Where
people live with partners, carers are becoming isolated and stressed. Everyone
is missing their routines and company, which are crucial for people living with
dementia.
Our team is working hard to maintain
regular phone/video contact with the people we support, providing a friendly
face and familiar voice to them. We do telephone quizzes and sing
together and send out activity/gardening packs tailored to relieve
boredom.
People living with dementia could be
stuck at home for several months more.
Can you help us to keep them as well
and positive as possible?
