Sophia & Andrew walk the Victoria Line for South London Xmas Dinner

Sophia & Andrew are a couple from South London. Sophia is a care leaver and we've decided to raise money for the South London Xmas Dinner together because we believe no one should have to spend Christmas alone. 

To raise money, we are walking the length of the Victoria Line on the 25th November, one month before Christmas. The route will start in Walthamstow and end at Brixton Station in South London. The whole tube line is over 15 miles long from start to finish, so we will be taking the whole day to complete this cross-city urban trek.

The South London Xmas Dinner is one of many Christmas Dinners organised across the country for care leavers. This particular Christmas dinner invites care leavers aged 18-25 in South London to an event where they are able to celebrate the holiday with their peers; their aim is to make sure no care leaver spends Christmas Day alone. ❤️

Sophia here! There’s now just one week to go until Andrew and I take on our 15.5 mile walk of the entirety of London’s Victoria Line, to raise money for care leavers this Christmas. I want to start by saying how proud I am of Andrew for throwing himself into my fundraising idea with 110%. I’m very lucky to have a partner who is such a brilliant ally to the care experienced community.

Thanks to the support from all of you, we will be raising our target ONE last time to £2,000. It’s a big number, and it took a little bit of convincing, but I think we can do it! I am so grateful for everyone’s donations and shares so far; being a care leaver can be so lonely, but seeing your messages helps me remember that there are people out there who really do want to help. Neither of us thought we'd be able to raise so much in such a short period of time and we are incredibly grateful for everyone's generosity. Our stretch target is now up to £1,500 as we prepare for our 15.5 mile urban hike in less than 2 weeks time.
