Supporting St George’s, One Step at a Time

Our wonderful former staff member and long‑time supporter Sarah is lacing up her walking boots this April to raise vital funds for St George’s. Starting on Wednesday 1 April, Sarah will be aiming to walk an amazing 100 miles in just one month.

Here’s what Sarah shared about her challenge:

“I have always loved walking, but I wanted to set myself a target by raising money for a local charity. As St George’s is very close to my heart, it seemed like the perfect choice to keep me motivated! My dog and trusty training partner, Jasmine, will be by my side all the way to make sure that I reach my goal, whatever the weather!”

Please donate if you can and help Sarah reach her fundraising target of £100 – even the smallest donation makes a difference.

All money raised will be put towards our three key fundraising projects for the year:

  • Sourcing new equipment and resources for the setting.
  • Making various building updates to our well-loved building.
  • Providing subsidised places to support 10+ families in need, within our local area.

If you have any questions about St George's Childcare or our fundraising, please contact us at info@stgeorgeschildcare.co.uk

Best of luck Sarah (and Jasmine).

Supporting

St George's Childcare

St George's Childcare is an independent nursery, preschool, and out-of-hours school club, based in a converted Victorian house, in Tunbridge Wells. We provide personable, heartfelt, and expert childcare to over 250 children from 3 months old, up to 11 years old. We are proud to be able to offer this level of childcare to everyone, no matter their background or circumstances.

We are the only nursery locally that is a charity; this enables us to put the children first in all our decision making, to charge parents a fair price for childcare and to reinvest any surplus into improving the setting for the benefit of all of the children. St George's also provide subsidised, sometimes completely free, places for children who are in vulnerable circumstances, all paid for by our community fundraising activities. Where funding allows we also provide one to one support for our SEND children, to ensure they have all their needs met while they're at the setting. We work closely with social services, health visitors and the women’s refuge to support children who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford nursery education. Many children come to us from unstable homes where parents are dealing with difficult issues. While the children are in our care, their families have the time and space to get the help they need to move on in their lives.
