Fundraiser - Poem-a-Thon 2027 GENERAL PAGE

Story

Welcome! On Saturday 9 March 2027, 48 poets will be taking part in a Poem-A-Thon (a non-stop relay of poets) to raise money for Walthamstow charities. We're hoping to give them a big financial boost of £10,000 as more and more households depend on them.

You can either donate to this GENERAL page or to one of our fantastic poets - all money raised will be go to our charities.

WHERE? Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre Pub, 53-55 High Street, Walthamstow, E17 4SA. https://www.yeolderoseandcrowntheatrepub.co.uk

Line-up details to follow and we'll let you know how you can help...

Supporting

Rukhsana Khan Foundation

In late 2012, Jahangir Khan’s mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. At this same time, Jahangir was struck by reports that more people were struggling to put food on the table for their families.

His mother had always preached that if good comes to you, you should reach out and share your success with others. In her memory, he launched the Rukhsana Khan Foundation.

The mission of the charity is to help local families access food. We launched Walthamstow’s first Food Bank in 2013.

Future plans for the charity include summer lunch clubs for local children and breakfast clubs for the elderly and vulnerable.
