Story

📚✨ Help us transform our school library into a Hub of Reading! ✨📚

We are excited to launch a major PTA project to renovate our current library into a warm, welcoming and inspiring space where pupils can enjoy reading, browsing and escaping into books.

Our aim is to create a cosy, modern environment with comfortable seating, new books, Kindles and Chromebooks, plus a simple automated booking system – making the library easier and more enjoyable for all students to use.

Reading for pleasure is at an all-time low nationally, with only 1 in 3 children aged 8–18 reading for enjoyment. We want to help change that. A strong reading culture supports literacy, confidence and achievement across every subject.

This project will benefit over 1200 pupils, now and in the future, helping to close gaps in language development and open up opportunities for all learners.

💛 We are delighted to have already raised £6,000 through recent PTA events. Thanks to everyone for their support!

However, to fully realise this vision, we still need to raise at least £10,000.

Pilton Community College PTA - PIlton PTA

We are raising money to support various projects at Pilton Community College, Barnstaple. Past projects have involved raising money for smart TV screens, barista coffee machines, water coolers and tree planting projects. More recently we have funded art materials, a 3D printer, knitting machine, Geography textbooks, animal hutches, food preparation trolleys, sports leaders sweatshirts and a trip to Exeter for GCSE BVT students. All funds raised go to support students at school and make a huge difference at a time when school funds are so depleted. 

Please get involved as we aim to raise as much money as we can for your children.
