Story

On August 16th, we take to the seas once again - following the success of our award-winning 2024 maiden voyage, the firefighters of Blue Watch, Neath Fire Station are back for more! This year, we’re returning to the legendary Mumbles Raft Race aboard our proudly self-built, slightly suspect vessel: The 'U.S.S. LESS'.

We’re raising money for two incredible causes:

🌊 Mumbles RNLI Lifeboat Station – the dedicated volunteers who save lives at sea.

🔥 The Fire Fighters Charity – providing vital support to serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.

Both organisations mean a great deal to us, and we’re honoured to paddle in their name. The raft might wobble, the crew might sink, but the cause is rock solid.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps. Whether you’re cheering us on from the shore or just enjoying the idea of firefighters with questionable sea legs, your support is hugely appreciated.

The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives.

RNLI

Every day of every year, people of all backgrounds get into danger in the water. It’s a problem that we’re here to tackle.

Today, with your support, we are working harder than ever to end preventable drowning. In addition to our 24/7 search and rescue lifeboat service, we operate a seasonal lifeguard service. Every year, our volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards help and rescue thousands of people and have saved over 142,700 lives since 1824. Countless more lives are saved through our youth education and water safety work.

In an ideal world, no one would suffer the devasting loss of a loved one to drowning. We’d reach everyone with our water safety advice. If anyone got into trouble, they’d know what to do until help arrived. And our lifesavers would always have everything they need to reach them in time and save lives.

With you by our side, we can move closer to this world. And right now, we need your help more than ever.
