Chris & my dad are running the Leicester Half Marathon on Sunday 1st October to raise as much money as possible for ADAPT Prembabies.
ADAPT is a small charity who provide support to families with premature and poorly babies on the neonatal units at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital. They really helped us during our time at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
For those who don't know, Jaxon was born 7 weeks premature at LGH and unknown to us with a lifelong condition which has already resulted in multiple surgeries before he was 6 weeks old. He was transferred to LRI at less than 12 hours old and this is where we first found out about ADAPT. They left a little bag for us and all the other families on the ward with prem baby nappies, cardigans and knitted triangles that I could leave with Jaxon so he could still smell us when we werent there. What was an awful time was made easier with ADAPT there and its why we want to try and raise as much money as we can.
