Horsforth Town of Sanctuary

Story

Our vision is for Horsforth to become more and more of a town that is proud to welcome and include people who are seeking asylum and refugees into its community.

We have approximately 180 men who are seeking asylum living locally, families from Ukraine being hosted in Horsforth, and others seeking asylum across Leeds, all of whom can enrich our lives.

We are linked to Leeds City of Sanctuary and are part of the UK nationwide movement of City of Sanctuary.

Horsforth Town of Sanctuary is supported by Horsforth Chaplaincy Project, under the Charity LCCT (1096860).

Donations will be used for the work of Horsforth Town of Sanctuary.

We want to see Horsforth flourish in all aspects of its community. 

We work closely with the churches and other community groups, to do things like  

  • running the local monthly Farmers’ Market, 
  • holding regular assemblies and groups in schools,  
  • organising Community Events at Easter and Christmas, 
  • supporting newly arrived people seeking asylum, and more.
