Fundraiser - Help Arribaja Clinic

Story

Due to the untimely death of our nurse Gibbou Ceesay we are currently open only mornings but we hope to get the clinic back up and running properly with your help!

After discussions with Brufut clinic, we are looking at this as a new beginning. We are hoping to open as a maternity unit as well as continuing with services we have always provied. We will be supplied with midwives if we carry out a few improvements such as:

1. Putting in ceilings to limit dust to protect our newborns.

2. Moving the first aid from the main ward to where the dispensary is now located and blocking off the door so there is only one entrance to the main ward.

3. Ensuring we have a supply of hot water.

4. Moving the dispensary to where our store is located and putting in shelving and a refrigerator there.

5. If we have money left over a fresh coat of paint.

We estimate this work will cost £2000

The Arribaja clinic in Wullinkamma,The Gambia is a lifeline for many locals. Every Friday we give out baby milk to motherless babies , allowing them to stay with their families after the mothers death. The clinic also has a lab to test for diseases like malaria, HIV, anaemia etc, allowing speedy treatment. The staff also see and treat patients with wounds, hypertension and diabetes etc on a daily basis. The clinic couldn't run without people like you and without it, locals would face a lengthy walk to the next nearest clinic. Thank you
