Story

In June 2023, 100 colleagues from across the Bridgepoint network will take part in the Bridgepoint Alpine Challenge 2023. Split across two groups, participants will tackle a two-day trek of more than 30km on wild, remote mountain trails. Hiking off-piste to high cols, across snowy ridges and past glacial lakes, the groups will stay overnight in a remote mountain refuge, covering more than 2,500m of ascent in total.

Reflecting the large number of participants and our ambitious fundraising goals, we will be raising money for seven charities, detailed below. All money raised will be split evenly between the seven charities, with the Bridgepoint Charitable Trust matching donations, effectively doubling your contribution.

The Charities

40tude

40tude’s purpose is to transform the detection and treatment of colon cancer. They do this in two ways; by raising funds to support research that will help transform the treatment of colon cancer; and by promoting awareness of the need for regular screening.

Rally Round Rupert

Rally Round Rupert aims to improve understanding of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and fund clinical research into the condition. SMA is a genetic neuromuscular degenerative disease which causes muscle weakness and wastage through the loss of motor neurons.

Rebuilding Childhoods Board (under the NSPCC)

The Rebuilding Childhoods Board (RCB) aims to raise funding primarily for the NSPCC’s life-changing post sexual abuse services: the Lighthouse (a specialist facility in London which brings together all relevant support services under one roof) and Letting the Future In (a programme to help children deal with the trauma of abuse).

Re-engage

Founded in 1965, Re-engage (formerly ‘Contact the Elderly’) is a charity dedicated to tackling social isolation and loneliness in older people, with a special focus on the over 75s.

The UK Sepsis Trust

The UK Sepsis Trust aims to reduce the number of lives needlessly lost to sepsis and support people affected by sepsis or severe infection, while taking a responsible stance on antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention.

TRIBE Freedom Foundation

TRIBE Freedom Foundation is a unique, community-driven organisation on a mission to fight modern slavery and end human trafficking. The charity empowers communities by equipping them with the knowledge and resources to take action.

Ukrainian Action

Ukrainian Action (UA) is a volunteer-run, non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the survival of Ukrainian citizens and reconstruction of Ukraine.
