Fundraiser - Offa's Dyke Trek for Young People

Story

I hope you can sponsor me to trek the 177 mile coast-to-coast Offa’s Dyke trail unassisted, camping overnight and carrying everything. It will be a big challenge! I am raising funds for Respected who provide vital relationships and sex education for any secondary school in the country. Check out their website www.respected.org.uk

I had very little PSHE at school and my decision making was less informed by good information and more driven by peer pressure. It’s even harder now for young people who are bombarded by frequently inaccurate information on social media. STI’s are increasing and harmful pornography exposure is widespread even among 7 year olds. According to ofsted, sexual abuse in schools is widespread.

Feedback from teachers and young people is very positive. Respected is providing a vital resource that is desperately needed. Please support them!

At Respected, our vision is for all young people to have healthy and fulfilling relationships. Founded by local GP Dr Louise Parkin as a response to her experiences over 20 years of practice, our aim is to empower young people to make healthy and informed choices in the area of relationships and sex. Our holistic Relationships and Sex Education Programme equips students with critical thinking skills and knowledge to promote their emotional, physical and sexual health, challenge misinformation and empower them to reclaim respect and commitment in relationships.
