Story

On Sunday 21st April 2024, I will be running my first ever London Marathon.

As well as 20 other runners, on behalf of a charity very close to me and my family's hearts, Bedford Hospital Charity & Friends, I will be running 26.2 miles or 42.2km.

I thrive on challenges and whilst this will push me to the max, I will conquer this quest.

I am excited for the day and will put every ounce of what I have into completing this challenge.

Any donations for this fantastic charity will be very much appreciated.

Supporting

The BHC&F Fundraising Campaign from Bedford Hospital Charity and Friends

"The Friends of Bedford Hospital" and "Bedford Hospitals Charity" joined forces in 2019 forming Bedford Hospital Charity & Friends. Our primary purpose is to support patients and staff at Bedford Hospital, by fundraising to install new equipment and improve facilities and services for all. To date the combined charities have raised well over £12 million for the hospital.

We currently have two appeals:
1) "The BHC&F Fundraising Appeal" This is our general on-going appeal and having just completed the installation of CT in A&E - The Clifton Ibbett Suite - and also helped install the best Robotic Surgery equipment on the market at Bedford Hospital, we are now directing our fundraising efforts to install Cardiac CT Angiography at South Wing. We are raising £600,000 to purchase the add-on equipment to a basic CT Scanner that allows Cardiac Angiography to be performed without prior preparation with medication as currently is required for current Cardiac CT Scans. Once installed, Bedford patients will no longer need to wait several weeks/months for a CT Scan at Papworth Addenbrookes as currently happens.

2) "Primrose Car Service"  At no charge, a special team of volunteer drivers take Bedford Hospital out-patients for their radiotherapy treatment at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.

If you would like to support and donate to either of these appeals please scroll down to the specific appeal window and click on the donate button. We pride ourselves in that all members of the BHCF fundraising team are volunteers with ensuring that 99% of all donations go direct to patient and staff care.

On behalf of us all, thank you for your kind and generous support.
