Story

Two best friends Stuart and Steven, who are rapidly approaching their 40th birthdays, have decided to set themselves the task of completing the Three Peaks Challenge!

Fortunately for us they have chosen to raise funds for PlayWise.  Whoop Whoop!

In case you didn't know, the Three Peaks Challenge is a hike/climb to the top of  the 3 highest peaks in mainland Britain:  Snowdon, in Wales (1085m), Scafell Pike, in England (978m), Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m) in 2 just days.  This involves a total hiking distance of 37km (23 miles) and a total ascent of 3064 metres (plus over 450 miles of driving added into the mix). That’s over 50,000 steps!

This is a tough test and both men will need to be in peak condition to ensure they complete the challenge.  A strict diet and fitness regime is being planned as we speak (not sure they are actually aware of this though!) 

All funds that are raised through this challenge will be going to towards a programme of Signalong courses for both our staff and parents.  Signalong is a key word sign-supported communication system based on British sign language and is used in spoken
