A message from Mrs Thompson, EYFS Lead at WDCE Primary:
An EYFS climbing frame can help support an environment that will enable children to explore, scale immovable objects and push their bodies in a safe environment. They also actively encourage socialisation and spatial awareness, strengthening muscles as they go.
Planning in opportunities for the children to use their gross motor skills and build upper body strength is crucial to support development and particular supports writing, one of our key School Improvement Plan priorities.
Unlike the other playgrounds across school, the children currently lack opportunities to develop their physical abilities throughout the day in EYFS, meeting the objectives of the EYFS Framework.
Climbing frames provide children with endless fun and entertainment but also provide arange of developmental benefits that are essential for their growth and wellbeing.
