Fundraiser - Callum's London Marathon 2027 for Home-Start Watford

Story

On 25 April 2027 I'm running the London Marathon, 26.2 miles, for Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers.

As a dad of two young boys, I know how hard the early years can be, even with good support around you. Many local families don't have that support. Home-Start steps in.

They help families across Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere who have at least one child under five and are going through a tough time. Trained volunteers, who are parents themselves, visit families at home every week for six months. They offer practical help, emotional support and friendship. The charity also runs family groups and affordable counselling. The aim is to step in early, before a family reaches crisis point, so their children get the best possible start.

This is a small local charity, so every pound stays local and makes a real difference.

My target is £2,500.00. Whatever you can give, £5 or £50, gets me through the miles and helps a family near you.

Home-Start is a local charity and voluntary organisation based in Watford for the last twenty years. We are part of a national charity and across the country; there are over 250 local Home-Starts.Here at Home-Start we are committed to promoting the welfare of children under the age of five and their siblings. Trained volunteers visit families weekly for two to three hours in their homes. They offer support, friendship and guidance when families need it the most. These weekly visits make a huge difference to a family who maybe isolated, coping with family breakdown or struggling with their own health needs.
